Field Artillery's St. Barbara's
Holiday Ball set for Dec. 8
St Barbara

By Maj. Ed Lundstrom
Ball Coordinator

For an evening of merriment, tradition, camaraderie, and solemn mysteries, make plans to attend the St. Barbara's Holiday Ball Dec. 8 at The Picatinny Club.

This annual celebration honors the Patron Saint of the Field Artillery, Saint Barbara, and the proud tradition of Stonehurlers, Archers, Catapulters, Rockateers, and Gunners.

In addition to dinner and dancing, the evening will include an artillery demonstration by Lamb's Artillery (the first Artillery Commission granted by Congress for the new Continental Army in 1775) and the traditional field Artillery Punch Ceremony. Also, an induction of new members into the Honorable Order of St. Barbara and the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher will be held.

These prestigious awards recognize individuals who have contributed in a significant way to the betterment of the Field Artillery community. Nomination procedures for induction into the Honorable Order of St. Barbara and the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher will be published via e-mail in the near future. For more information concerning the Ball, contact Maj. Ed Lundstrom, X5319.

The Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher recognizes individuals who have voluntarily contributed in a significant way to the betterment of the Field Artillery Community. Membership is limited to those women whose service to the Field Artillery Community exemplifies the spirit of sacrifice and devotion of Molly Pitcher.
