Visitor Control Center reopens after being closed many years

By Richard Clawson
Chief, Security Division

Effective Oct. 17, the Visitor Control Center reopened in a trailer adjacent to Bldg. 1136 just south of the Main Gate until the former building is renovated.

The Center will be open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Phone numbers are X3476, X3590 or X7486.

During duty hours all visitors will be required to process in through the Visitor Control Center and must have personal identification.

In addition, individuals operating vehicles without a decal affixed will be required to process in through the Visitor Control Center with the exception of delivery vehicles. All delivery vehicles must process in through the Truck Gate.

Personnel expecting visitors are required to complete the Visitor Registration Form accessible on the PicaWeb at https://cs3.pica.army.mil/visitors/visitors.asp. Organizations located at Picatinny who cannot access the PicaWeb must request and be authorized by the Chief, Security Division to use e-mail to inform Visitor Control of impending visitor(s).

In the future, the Visitor Registration site will also include a form for temporarily registering a visitor's vehicle. The temporary vehicle registration form will also be required to be filled out once on line. In the interim, Visitor Control personnel will fill out temporary vehicle passes.

The Security point of contact is John Woelfel, X4100.
